The blog is back!
The time it took for me to remember the log in details reminds me how long it's been since I was last at SCH. I miss those wonderful kids and am so excited to announce that I will be going back to SCH this summer with an amazing team of people!
I have always said that as much as i miss the kids, the staff and the place, i would never go back unless I could be helpful. It's not fair on the children to go simply for myself. Thinking about my skills and the skills of people around me, I realised one thing I have experience with is running amazing camps!
So that is what we're doing. We will go and spend 2 weeks running a fun, exciting and educational day camp for a group of the SCH kids. We will focus on communication skills and developing independence as well as giving the children a fun summer camp experience.
I am so excited to get going with organising this!
So why shake the dust off the blog today? Well it's black friday. I know we don't do thanksgiving and it's all a corporate money making scheme but may as well make the most of it. As part of their black Friday deals amazon are currently selling the Fire tablets for under £30. These can be used with a range of apps to turn them into communication devices. Anyone whose been following my blog for a while will know that i am passionate about communication for all. I would love to be able to take some of these devices out to India to get the kids that need them set up with communication devices. So many of these kids are non-verbal but that definitely doesn't mean they have nothing to say!
